About me

I am an orthopaedic surgeon specialised in spinal surgery. I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, and completed my specialisation in orthopaedic surgery at the Orthopaedic Clinic. I am currently finishing my PhD on lumbar spinal stenosis.

I work at the Orthopaedic Clinic in Ljubljana in the Department of Spinal Surgery, where I also manage the most complex cases from across Slovenia. In addition, I see patients at the Orto-Ped clinic in Hotel Lev, LagunaMed and MD Medicina.

My practice covers degenerative diseases and deformities of the spine, pediatric pathology, and tumours and infections of the spine. I was among the first in Slovenia to start performing elective lateral approaches on the lumbar spine (XLIF, OLIF), which, thanks to their less invasive nature, offer less pain and faster recovery. For each patient I choose the least invasive approach that still provides a good and lasting result.

I firmly believe in clear communication with the patient. I explain the nature of the problem, the treatment options — including non-operative ones — and the expected postoperative course, so that you can make a calm and informed decision about surgery.

I am an active member of the Slovenian Orthopaedic Association and regularly participate in national and international spinal surgery courses and congresses. I publish the results of my work in professional literature and contribute to research at the Faculty of Medicine.
